Apixaban
Apixaban is mainly used to help prevent blood clots and to lower the risk of having a stroke because of an irregular heartbeat or following knee or hip surgery. Apixaban can also be used to treat blood clots in your lungs because of pulmonary embolism (PE) or blood clots in your legs from deep vein thrombosis (DVT). In addition to treating blood clots, Eliquis can also be prescribed to lower the chance of blood clots of re-occurring.
